Captain Chris Anderson originally comes from the dry state of Arizona. Chris got his start in sailing on board a 118’ wooden schooner (Pilgrim of Newport) working as a deckhand and teaching maritime education programs to students in Southern California from Long Beach, Dana Point, and San Diego. Over the next 3 years Chris worked his way up to First Mate and Captain. He has been a boat captain for over 20 years now, and has served on everything from sailing dinghies, when teaching youth sailing classes, to a variety of educational tall ships, mega yachts and offshore supply boats.
Chris has spent a couple of summers in Newport R.I. and winters in the US, and British Virgin Islands running a 54’ Little Harbor private yacht. In 2006 Chris sailed his own Alberg 37 Yawl from St Thomas to Newport R.I. He has sailed throughout the East and West coast of the United States, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, Galapagos Islands and across the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
Captain Chris is an American Sailing Association and a US Sailing, Certified Sailing Instructor.
Chris also received his first dive certification in Panama back in 1999, and earned his Assistant Dive Instructor Certification in Thailand in 2003. He has run dive charters and cruised throughout the Bahamas and the Florida Keys. Chris is passionate about teaching sailing to youth and adults, safety, security and serving in our boating community.
