Jeanneau 51 March News
Mar 09, 2017 /
Gail and I met the Herve Gastinel, the CEO of Groupe Beneteau, at the Jeanneau International Sales Meeting in Nantes, France last summer and in our conversation invited him to go sailing with us on the new Jeanneau 51 after the Miami show. And to our surprise he accepted! So today we made good on the invite and went out on Biscayne Bay. The weather almost did us in with strong winds ahead of a cold front. With a 2 hour window, we decided to go anyway along with Paul Fenn of Jeanneau, Greg Pitrizzi of Hilton Head Yachts, and George Day of Bluewater Sailing magazine, since it was the last chance to go out before the boat leaves for Texas.
Doing 8-9 kts up wind with a double reef main and a slightly furled genoa in 25-30 kts! Then doing 10 kts downwind back to the marina. Great sailing!
